Efficient methods for one-shot quantum communication

Abstract We address the question of efficient implementation quantum protocols, with small communication and entanglement, short depth circuit for encoding or decoding. introduce two methods this; first constructs a resource-efficient convex-split lemma second adapts technique classical correlated sampling in computer science literature. These lead to following consequences one-shot information theory. First concerns task decoupling, achieved many previous works aid random pseudo-random unitary. show that given any choice basis such as computational basis, decoupling can be by unitary takes vectors vectors. Thus, acts ‘classical’ manner; furthermore our performs addition multiplication modulo prime. As consequence, we construct near-optimal protocol channel coding uses exponentially smaller entanglement than protocol.
